Installing Transactional Email

Install the app from the HubSpot App Marketplace and start sending test emails from the sandbox right away.

Installing Transactional Email connects it to your HubSpot account. The app is ready for test sends as soon as the install finishes — there’s nothing to pay and no DNS to set up until you decide to go live.

  • A HubSpot account with at least one Professional or Enterprise hub, so you can build workflows. See HubSpot requirements and permissions.
  • Permission to install apps in HubSpot (App Marketplace Access; Super Admins have it).
  1. Find the app. In the HubSpot App Marketplace, search for Transactional Email by Cambium and open the listing.
  2. Click Install. If you have access to more than one HubSpot account, choose the account to connect.
  3. Review the permissions. HubSpot lists what the app can access — your contacts and companies, marketing emails, workflows, and the contact timeline. Approve to continue.
  4. Open App Home. Go to Marketplace apps → Transactional Email. The Get set up checklist shows Sandbox ready as done.

The app is installed and your sandbox is live: you can send up to 20 test emails from workflows right away.

As part of the install, Transactional Email:

  • Creates a Transactional Email property group on contacts with three properties: Transactional email suppressed, Transactional email suppression reason, and Last transactional email sent. See Contact properties and timeline events.
  • Sets up your account’s isolated sending reputation, so other customers’ bounces and complaints never affect your deliverability.
  • Emails the person who installed the app a short welcome with the next steps. That person also receives the app’s alerts until you add other recipients in Settings → Alerts.
  • Install once per HubSpot account. Each account has its own settings, sending domain, and subscription.
  • Reinstalling doesn’t reset the sandbox: the 20 test sends are per HubSpot account, for good.
