Uninstalling and reinstalling

What happens to your subscription and data when you uninstall, and how long you have to change your mind.

Uninstalling Transactional Email stops all sending within minutes, then winds your account down on a fixed schedule. Nothing is deleted immediately: if you reinstall within the window, everything comes back as you left it.

  • Permission to manage apps in HubSpot (App Marketplace Access).
  • If you only want to stop paying, you can cancel from Manage billing instead and keep the app installed. See Managing billing and invoices.
  1. Open your connected apps in HubSpot’s settings (Integrations → Connected Apps).
  2. Find Transactional Email and choose Uninstall.
  3. Confirm.

The app is uninstalled. Your alert recipients get an email — “Transactional Email was uninstalled” — with the date your account closes.

When What happens
Within a few minutes Sending stops: the Send transactional email action no longer sends email.
7 days after uninstalling, or 1 day before your next renewal — whichever comes first Your subscription is cancelled, with no further charges. This is the date in the uninstall email.
14 days after cancellation We delete your sending domain and its authorization, sender profiles, cached templates, send logs, and suppression list.

After the deletion we keep only a minimal account record for billing history, which includes how many sandbox sends you’ve used.

Data stored in HubSpot stays there: the contact properties and timeline events Transactional Email wrote aren’t removed. Delete the properties in HubSpot if you no longer want them. Remove the Transactional Email DNS records from your domain once you’re sure you won’t reinstall.

  • Before your subscription is cancelled: everything is restored — sending domain, sender profiles, suppression list, logs, and your subscription.
  • After cancellation, before deletion: your data is restored, but live sending needs a new subscription — subscribe again in Settings → Billing.
  • After deletion: you start fresh. Set up your sending domain again (with new DNS records), recreate your sender profiles, and subscribe. Warm-up starts over.

In every case, the sandbox doesn’t reset: the 20 sandbox sends are per HubSpot account, for good.

Do I get a refund for the rest of the month? Your subscription is cancelled before your next renewal, so you aren’t charged again. For questions about a charge you’ve already paid, email support@cambiumapps.com.

What happens to workflows that use the action? They stay in HubSpot. While the app is uninstalled, the action can’t send. Remove it from your workflows, or reinstall the app.
