Searching the send log

Look up any send from the last 45 days by recipient email or message ID, and see exactly what happened to it.

The Send log on App Home records every send attempt — including the ones that didn’t go out — for 45 days. Use it to answer “did the customer get their receipt?” in a few seconds.

The log stores details about each send, never the email’s content.

  1. Open App Home. In HubSpot, go to Marketplace apps → Transactional Email and scroll to Send log.
  2. Enter a recipient email or message ID in Recipient email or message ID. Email searches ignore capitalization. A message ID comes from the workflow action’s Message ID output or the contact’s timeline event.
  3. Click Search. Results are newest first. Click Load more to see older sends.

Each row shows the send’s time, recipient, template, sender profile, status, and message ID, plus whether it went out in Live or Sandbox mode.

Status What it tells you
Delivered The recipient’s mail server accepted the email.
Sent Handed over for delivery; delivery confirmation hasn’t arrived yet.
Bounced The email bounced, permanently or temporarily. The row shows the bounce type.
Marked as spam The recipient reported the email as spam.
Queued (warm-up) Waiting for tomorrow’s warm-up limit. The row shows when it sends. Once it goes out, the row shows how it ended — the workflow isn’t told again.
Queued, Held for review, Sending Still in progress. Held sends wait up to 10 minutes for the content review.
Anything else The email wasn’t sent. The row shows why — for example, “Not sent: no HubSpot contact has this as its primary email address.”

A row can also list Unknown tokens left empty: tokens in the template that named a property that doesn’t exist. The email still went out, with those tokens blank. See Personalizing emails with tokens.

For every status and what to do about it, see Send status and error codes.

  • “No sends found” means nothing was sent to that address in the last 45 days. Check the workflow’s history to see whether the record reached the action at all.
  • Check the address you searched. The log records the address the email was sent to, which may differ from the enrolled record’s email if the workflow maps Recipient email to another property.
  • Times are shown in UTC.
